Announcements are easy. Dates, milestones and someone willing to be held to them are the harder part, and they are the part that has been missing.
What has actually happened
Ask anyone on the peninsula which local project has been talked about longest and you will get a short list of the same answers. Mona Vale Road. The Wakehurst Parkway and the flooding. Services at Mona Vale Hospital. The infrastructure that was meant to follow the houses into Warriewood Valley.
None of these are new ideas. They have been studied, costed, announced and in some cases announced again. What has been thin on the ground is a published timetable and a local member prepared to say plainly when a date has slipped and why.
My commitment is narrow and I think it is the right one. For every priority in this plan I will publish what I have asked for, what stage it is at and when it is due. When something is delayed, you will hear it from me rather than read it in a budget paper two years later.
